Like Grandmama Always Said...

"Remember--they cain't eat ya!"
Now that's Brilliant!
Why didn't I ever think of that?
So many times we think the world is going to fall apart if we mess up. Well--it aint. At the end of the day, are you alive? Yep. Will you wake up tomorrow and keep going? Mmm hmm. Is anyone worried about what you are worried about as much as you are? Probably not. Is someone actually going to eat you if you fail?
Um, no.
Why that silly sentence is such a comfort to me, I do not know, but to this day I still find myself chanting the words to myself as I am facing a tough or nerve-racking situation. It always seems to put things into perspective for me.
I know the Bible is chock full of scripture that express a similar sentiment. Do you have a favorite verse that helps you face scary people or situations? Please share it with us!

  1. Leave it to a Grandma to come up with such a great saying. Grandma's are always so wise, aren't they?!

My favorite thing to say to myself is that I can do anything I put my mind to. My mom instilled this in me, and I hope to instill it in my children too. I think we all can do what we put our minds to!

    Stopped by from SITS!

  2. For me, its this simple scripture: "Be still and know I am God." Psalms 46:10. When I feel like everything is turning upside down, I turn my IPOD on and listen to all of my praise and worship music, but I especially love "Be Still" by StorySide B. It always lifts me up and puts things in perspective

  3. Love this picture of Grandmamma. Grandmother's advice is always priceless. Proverbs 3:5 & 6 always gets me through tough situations. It definitely helped me through that first year away at college.

I agree with all 3 of the above comments.
Proverbs 3:5-6 are my "life verses".
