Canton Finds

Last weekend I had the pleasure of going to the Canton Trade Days. It was packed! The weather was perfect and the finds were great too. I was proud of myself for only making 4 purchases. One was a nap mat for my son and here are the others...

The first purchase was my favorite--old wooden bar stools.

I am planning to paint these for the Procrastinators Party hosted by Melissa at The Inspired Room. Last time I signed up for the party I didn't follow through (check it out here--I might do this too), but this go round I will have 'after' pics for the world to see. In 2 weeks. Promise.

At $7 a piece, the price was right. I only needed a couple but it was one of those deals where there was a whole family who needed to be taken in. When I saw all the brothers and sisters, I decided they belonged with us, too. So, after a little bargaining with Grandpa, I got the whole family of 5 for $25. Now the hard work begins. YIKES!

I also got this plate, which I was told is "really old." It matches a rooster plate that I already have. Now I'm thinking about starting a rooster plate collection. Yes, that's just what I need.

And THIS is something special I got because it is going to be perfect for one of the 12 Weeks of Christmas homemade giveaways. Can't tell you exactly what it is. You'll have to check back to find out!

So that was my Canton adventure--just in time to provide a procrastinator project for me and another cute gift for you! Go check out all the other "befores" at The Inspired Room. And be sure to join in the fun of 12 Weeks of Christmas!

  7. You will be a busy girl, transforming those terrific stools. They have a lot of potential.

I have a question about the 12WOC. Looking ahead, I was wondering what you meant by 'accent craft'. Are you planning to give us a tutorial on a craft to try or are we supposed to share a craft we have done?

  8. Maureen--you little planner, you! I'm glad you asked that because everyone else is proabbly wondering too. Heck, I'm sure you're all wondering about a lot of things...

The accent craft--that would basically be a decoration. One that you either have or are making. If you make something and share the tutorial that is great. If you have a special decoration that you use every year and want to do a "show and tell" that would be fine too. If you see something you love at a store, but would never pay the money for it but just want to take a pic and show us all--that would work too. I will personaly be making something to share with a tutorial.

    Hope that helps??!
