Easy Kolaches
Kolache (n.) (Czech and Slovak plural koláče) is a type of pastry consisting of fillings ranging from fruits (including poppy seed, raspberry, and apricot) to cheeses inside a bread roll.
Here's the Southern-American version...
Ingredients:
melted butter
canned biscuits
cinnamon/sugar mixture
jelly
cream cheese (optional)
Instructions:
Open the can of biscuits. If they are "Grands," cut in half. Roll in melted butter. Roll in cinnamon/sugar mixture. Place on baking sheet and make a little indention with your thumb. Fill with jelly {and cream cheese if you're inclined}. Bake according to biscuit directions. Enjoy!
These would make a FABULOUS Christmas morning treat!

Oh! So much fun to find your recipe. We grew up with my grandma making kolaches for all the grandkids. The recipe my grandma used looks like a ton of work. I think I can handle yours, thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteThose sound yummy and simple enough to make, once I saw that you use biscuts in a can. Forget Christmas morning, how 'bout Tuesday morning?
