Me, a Fashionista?

Fashionista (n.) A person devoted to fashion clothing, particularly unique or high fashion.

I have lost nearly 30 pounds and things, they are a changin'. My body is changing, my behaviors are changing, and I have even noticed that my interests are beginning to change a bit.

Tonight I found myself searching for fashion blogs while watching the style channel! Funny, because a few months ago, fashion was the furthest thing from my mind.

I have always loved design of any kind so naturally putting cute outfits together is fun for me--but even the cutest of ensembles would never look right on my body. Not to mention the selection of clothing for "big girls" isn't that great either. But that's another post...The point is, I gave up on fashion a long time ago.

The thought that I could actually find enjoyment from styling myself rather than just advising my perfect size 4 mother (which is really fun, don't get me wrong) is so EXCITING to me! I haven't really been a size that I could take pride in dressing since I was in high school and back then the clothes were so grungy. YUK!

Anyway, I seriously think a fashionista could be in the making here. The more shapely my body becomes, the more I think about what to put on it. Of course I will have to be a frugal fashionista but that's okay. I have already proven that I can do that by cutting my own mod bangs--my first step to becoming a fashionista?

We'll see.

  5. I hope that I get to the point you are at. I haven't worried much about what I wear since college, so long as what I wear doesn't show too many bumps or bulges. :) And yes, you are so right about fashion for "big girls"....it's not there. At least, not for the average person. I see my size celebrities out there who have really cute clothes - but they can afford them! So, I know it's possible.....but only if I was rich! You should blog about that sometime. :)
