Fashionista Learns a Lesson

In a recent post I mentioned my new fascination with fashion. Well, last week I reached a new weight loss goal and I rewarded myself with clothes! Two tops. Just thought I'd share. (Sorry if you follow both blogs...this is a bit of a repeat.)

The jacket in the top photo was a gift from my mom a couple of years ago. This week was the first time I have been able to button it!! I wanted to wear it to church this morning but the lining was getting messed up and making me look bigger than I actually am. (We CAN"T have that, now can we?)

Well, last night I was watching What Not to Wear and they mentioned a little trick where you can cut the lining out of pockets and sew them down to make your pants lay down nice and flat. So I thought I would apply this principle to the jacket. I got my scissors and started cutting away at the inner lining. I finished up and thought, "Man! That was easy!" I put my newly tailored jacket on and off I went to church.

It wasn't until I was nearly at church that I happened to look down and notice this:

Turns out there was a REASON for the lining. Who knew? I just went ahead to church like any self-respecting fashionista would do. Who says I can't start a new trend?

Here are some current progress pics:

  2. Lookin' so good! Time for me to join ranks. I had someone eyeball my tummy at church today, and ask me if I....and of course, they had the sense NOT to say it out loud, but i know what she was aluding to....Oh yes. My clingon shirt revealed that I am not at this present time winning the Battle of the Bulge....my bulge. And for the record, I am not .....{that word she didn't say outloud!} Love you, and as always, you're an inspiration! Way to go!!!
