Household Hint #77

Here's what to do if you ever put dish washing liquid such as Dawn or Joy into the dishwasher rather than dish washing detergent (Cascade):

1. Use a cup or whatever is handy--you will likely be freaking out at this point-- to get all of the standing water and suds out of the bottom of the dishwasher.
2. Use towels to soak up any hard-to-reach suds. Make sure to clean out the soap compartment extra good!
3. Now add 1 cup of cooking oil to the bottom of the dishwasher followed by two huge handfuls of table salt. This combination is a proven "bubble killer."
4. Run the dishwasher for a minute and then look to see if the suds are still coming like crazy. If they are, add another cup of oil and salt and let it run for another minute. Repeat this process until you see that the water is beginning to drain.
5. At this point let the dishwasher run it's complete cycle and you should be good to go.
6. Never tell a soul about what happened and pass on the household hint #77.
