TWOC: Accent Craft No. 1

For the past two weeks we have slowly been edging our way toward thoughts of Christmas. We're just talking. I mean, it's not like were getting out our decorations or anything. We haven't started playing Christmas music yet. Well maybe some like Teresa @ Grammy Girlfiend who does "Christmas" for a living has--but Christmas music in October is fine for her. Go check out her awesome blog, A Baby Changes Everything, if you really want to get in the spirit.

For the most part we have just been thinking...talking...nothing drastic. That's about to change. Sorry. Extra sorry to those of you who are taking flack for posting about Christmas already. I've read the comments. I know what they think about us. Well, those Scrooges can join in when they are good and ready, but folks--we've got Christmas Accent Crafts to think about this week!!! Yipee!

Now, I'm not going to require you to actually make a craft, but the tag line on this whole thing is "A Homemade Holiday," after all. An accent craft is basically anything you can decorate with. Very wide open. Keep in mind, we have another Fab-o Wreath Party coming up for one of the weeks so maybe hold off on those. I did some quick searching and found these ideas. 1. Quilt Cookies! Why didn't I think of that!?! I'm going to make that a "new thing" to try to make time for! I'm a frustrated quilter (have three going), but quilt cookies are too cute for words!
Looking forward to our week three adventures!

  3. Keelie, Jeff and I finally unblocked the door to the storage room in our garage to get our Halloween decorations out. I asked him how hard it would be to find our Christmas ornaments. I wanted to show you one of my favorite oranments to make with kids, that I thought YOU and others with little ones might really like, and it's not one that you see all the time.
He said, "No! It's too early to get the Christmas boxes out."
I said, "I have to show some friends a Christmas accent craft THIS week."
    He said, "What friends?"
I said, "Keelie, Diana and others."
He still didn't help me find them!

  7. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to join in this week since my dd came down with flu this week (probably H1N1 - nasty!). So far the rest of the family have stayed well, but we've definitely been exposed.

I've posted instructions to make a 3D paper snowflake.
