Home Is Where My Heart Is

In a few hours, I will walk out of this school, where it is my prayer that I have made a difference in the lives of children. I will drive the all-too familiar route to my house. But when I walk in the door this time, it will be different. This time, I will truly be HOME.

I will begin the career that God had planned for me before he laid the foundations of the earth. It is the multi-faceted occupation of Homemaker. A full-time children loving, interior improving, craft making, regimented cleaning (you'll see), carefree hosting, creative baking, picnic-making, photo taking, library card-toting, daily make-up wearing, Mom, wife, child of the Living God.

Just as the tears fill my eyes, gratitude and humility flood my heart. To you all and to my God, I could never fully express the happiness that has overtaken me today. As a Christian, I am blessed with unending JOY, but today what I feel is sheer HAPPINESS. I am truly understanding that [He] is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. Ephesians 3:20.


So what can I say?

What can I do?

But offer this heart, O God

Completely to you.

  2. oh, Keelie, my eyes are full of tears of joy for you. I keep telling you that all your posts are awesome. This one is so amazing. You are so good with words and so creative in all ways. You are right. You are going to be the best at Homemaking and I know you have made a difference in those children's lives!

  5. Keelie, first of all, congratulations oh admired and creative one....the river in you will keep flowing, but will simply take a turn.

    Hey, when I first pulled up your post my computer was it's usual slow self, so about eight times in a row it was showing the phrase, "prayer that I have made a difference in the lives of children", and just the visual of that was the idea of the unending prayer....that with class time now over and home time at hand, that is a prayer in our lives that must continue, and go on and on and on. So, we join with you to say hurah! For a job well done, and the joy of the river's next turn!
