Camping in Colorado Springs

The summer after Justin and I were married, we decided to take a trip to Colorado. We basically decided to go one day, packed up the car, and took off the next. Much simpler times! The park where we camped had a beautiful view of Pikes Peak and we were able to visit many of the wonderful attractions in that area.

Unfortunately, we could never figure out how to light our oil lamp so when it began to get dark and cold around 8 o'clock, we would have to zip up the tent and go to bed. There was also a burn ban in effect so we ate most of our meals out and I believe we ended up sleeping in a Comfort Inn the last night. We really know how to rough it!

Trip to the White River

Brooks and Jonah (born 6 weeks apart) fishing with their Daddies.

This was a fun trip we took a few years ago. All the men in my family love to fly fish and the White River in Arkansas is apparently a great place to do that. One of Dad's friends has a cabin right on the river and that is where we stayed. The picture above shows the boys just after they woke (telltale jelly on Jonah's mouth) and already--attached at the hip. I love how they love each other.

Here they are in September waiting to meet Glory.

  2. What a fun trip! I've always had a secret wish to live in Colorado for some reason. I really don't know why, it just sounds like a nice state. Isn't that funny?

    Cute photos too!
